Pharus Sicav Trend Player and Pharus Sicav Basic Fund win the Premio Alto Rendimento by Il Sole 24 Ore

For the third year in a row, Pharus has been awarded first prize in Il Sole 24 Ore's "Premio Alto Rendimento" for the outstanding performance of two different funds, both managed by Pharus Asset Management SA, a Swiss investment manager.
Pharus Sicav Trend Player, a balanced fund whose objective is to achieve capital growth by capturing medium and long-term trends in the financial markets, was ranked best equity-oriented balanced fund for the third consecutive year.
Pharus Sicav Basic Fund, a flexible fund that aims to provide capital growth through dynamic exposure to the markets, mainly equity markets, in the Eurozone, was ranked best flexible total return fund for the second time.
This is not the first time that both funds have received this award and Yaniv Matatyahu, manager of Trend Player, and Michele Corno, manager of Basic Fund, are both pleased and proud of their achievements in 2021.
For Trend Player, the biggest exercise was to find the right balance between equity and fixed income to avoid the negative impacts of the geopolitical and inflationary situation. The good mix of growth stocks and value stocks combined with the bond part allowed the fund to spend the year unscathed and to achieve a good performance, closing at +12.42%.
The Basic Fund continued to stand out in 2021 for its strong exposure to the Italian equity market, particularly in the small and mid-cap segment. The decision to continue to follow the companies already in the portfolio proved to be a winning strategy, as it enabled the Fund to capture the increase in value enjoyed by the stocks that were able to confirm their positioning, leading to a year-end performance of +83.66%.
